Can I send an animated gif or digital picture as part of an Azam voice email?
Yes! The recipient of your voice email can see your message as well as hear it. We have even provided a number of animated gifs as part of Azam, to permit you to show the main message your voice is trying to convey. After all, a picture does paint a thousand words. Of course, there’s nothing stopping you sending any digital image (Jpeg or gif). Here are just some animated gifs that come with Azam:
Can I record from and to my mobile phone using Azam?
It really depends on the make and model of your mobile phone. If your mobile phone and the software provided with it has the capability of storing and downloading wave files then you can record to your phone using Azam.
The standard Azam search looks for exact matches to the search keys you enter in both keywords and index elements of your recordings. This is quick and efficient if you know the words stored when you saved your recordings, but sometimes you may not remember the exact words you used.
Using the Smart Search feature, Azam will also look for different forms of your search keys such as plurals/singulars or past/future tenses. For example - if your search keys contain the word eat, Azam will also search for ate and eaten.
Azam Smart Search also looks for words which are associated to your search keys in the following ways -
Words which have the same meaning as search key (Synonyms) - Searching for eat would include the words consume, ingest among others.
Words which are a type of search key (Hyponyms) - Searching for cat would include the words lion, tiger among others.
Words of which search key is a kind (Hypernyms) - Searching for lion would include the words cat, big cat among others.
Smart Search uses the WordNet® database created by the Cognitive Science Laboratory at Princeton University.
option you can purchase a License Key for your current copy of Azam.
option you have a box delivered containing the Azam CD (including the Smart Search database), a printed Getting Started manual and a quality condensor microphone.
You can do nothing - for now. Azam will no longer function but your recordings are not deleted.
Once you see all your family & friends using Azam you can return and choose one of the preceding choices.
How do we get 3 members of a family using Azam on the same PC without listening to each others secrets?
Azam will maintain separate Data Stores for each User who logs on to a Windows PC.
The default location for these Data Stores is the Profiles subdirectory within the Azam program directory.
You may move individual Data Stores to a more convenient location using Windows Explorer and inform Azam through the File/Open menu. Azam displays the full Data Store name in its status bar.
Note that the Windows Operating System is responsible for the security of the Data Stores and not Azam consequently Windows 2000 or higher is required. (Refer to the Windows online help for specific details)
How can I play Azam recordings on my home stereo system and in a car CD Player?
Create an Azam recording. It is best not to compress the recording. Use the Export function to create a Wav or MP3 file. Copy this Wav/MP3 file to a CD burner program and produce a CD using the CD-Audio selection (NOT CD-data). If you wish to create a CD with several Azam recordings, most CD burners allow you to produce more than one audio track, as long as it's done at the same time. You will now be able to listen to Azam recordings as if they were the latest pop hits album!
Can I place audio recordings of Azam onto my website?
Yes you can do this in two different ways.
You can export the recording as an Azam file (*.cbz) and upload it to your website. The advantage of this is that the file size is small and your recording retains all the index markings. Users can download or playback the recording using the FREE Azam External Message Player.
You can export the recording to one of the following formats then upload it to your website: WAV, MP3, WMA or OGG formats. The disadvantage of this is that the file size is much larger and all the index marks are unavailable. However the recording can be played back using most multimedia devices.
The procedure described below is the same for either option.
Select Dictation function and record your audio recording.
Save the audio recording.
Right click the saved audio clip, select Export, then Azam Recording or one of the available export formats.
Save the audio recording into your chosen folder.
Upload the saved file from your chosen folder to your web server using your FTP program.
